The Kabbala has 3 negative veils of existence (Void, consciousness w/o form, consciousness with form), then creation of Manifest Reality (4th plane), but I see twofold ways one might create Manifest Reality. One would be (as in Kabbala), to exist as consciousness alone, then manifesting one's own physical form, then manifesting the rest of reality. The other main approach would be to exist as consciousness alone (in the Void), then manifest reality, only taking physical form later, if at all.

The only recurring dream I ever had, first remembered at about 8 years old and occasionally repeated until I stopped forgetting about it), the expansive grid paper, being a toothpick falling down and down and down until here on Earth. No other physical appearances except grid paper and toothpick. Ever since the first dream it was always clear that it was looking at the Universe as a whole then traveling down to the infinitesimally small (physically) presence of a single person. Was always a comforting dream with complete understanding through basic symbols. Of course, there was also the physical sensation of falling down to the level of a human.

When translating, especially ideas written in ancient languages centuries after that language's cessation of usage, take into consideration the author's likely understanding of the meanings at the time as well as considering your current perspective of the meaning.
