When working with theory it is always good to remember that you know nothing with certainty which you haven't proven/observed/demonstrated for yourself. Even then it is merely a fairly substantial theory. And every idea of knowledge is theory. And your perception may not even be "real" reality.

True spirituality and true science have no conflict, because in truth they are actually the same thing.
Logic, Wealth, and Power

Probably the biggest reason those who possess the most material wealth and wield the most power in a society do not recognize that working toward educating everyone would work to make everyone, including themselves, more materially wealthy isn't their inability to recognize it, but their interest in the actual (not comparative) luxury of their own lives is not as important to them as the addiction of the power over others.
