Allowing drug testing now for employment not only invades one's personal privacy and freedom, but it also opens the door for allowing DNA testing in the workplace, which could be used to limit the jobs an individual will be offered, because of pre-dispositioning toward developing certain medical conditions, the tendency for independent willfulness (ie more willful = less controllable slave), and a prejudgment of one's abilities. When workers are judged by lab tests instead of work performance it not only goes against the basic principles of the value of work but also allows for discrimination based on ethnicity and religious practice.
